because of its slanderous, juvenile, and egotistical nature.
In the disclaimer, he advocates that this posting is not intended to
stereotype or discriminate against the emo subculture,
but in reality this is exactly what it does.
He claims to have factually based all of his content, but these so-called
facts are pure opinion and have no truth to them at all. Every word
is based on his extreme dislike for them.
The entire posting is essentially a list of reasons for why he hates emos,
and it is poorly written at that. It is merely an excuse to argue with others
and encourage criticism of lifestyle he does not understand. Frankly,
he has no right to condemn them.
Here are specific details that I would like to bring to light:
1. His first three points declare that emos have stolen trends from other
styles and made themselves out to be original. Throughout history, cultures
have borrowed ideas from each other and incorporated them into their own
society. It is not fair to say that emos disgrace Straight Edge, SKA, and
other artists by adopting their styles. It is fashion statement, nothing more.
All types borrow from each other; it is the way of the world.
2. In his fourth point, he argues that all emos are the same because they
wear similar clothes and dress how they feel. By now, mankind has realized
that not everyone is the same. We are all different and unique. Though we
may dress the same, act the same, listen to the same music, we are not in
any way clones of one another. The way we dress is influenced by who we
are, not defined by who we are. After all, they are only clothes.
3. His fifth point tries to prove that all emos are afflicted by emotional
problems that they cannot overcome, or invent problems to make their
lives seem more interesting. Everyone has a problem, big or small. We all
go through hardship, pain, and/or loss. The human condition is emotional
and we are greatly affected by the events in our lives, all of us are. To say
that emos are in a constant state of emotional unrest and are tormented
by either genuine or fictional difficulty is clichéd. No one leads a perfect life,
we all have issues that we have to deal with.
4. The sixth point implies that all emos want to off themselves but do
not have the courage to do so. There may very well be suicidal emos in
the world, but not every emo wants to end their life. This is a very pitiful
stereotype that needs to be changed.
5. His seventh point attempts to confine male-male kissing to gay and/or
bi orientations. Although this does not directly slam emos, it does make for
another unfounded argument. Guys kiss each other for a variety of reasons.
It could be a sign of affection between close friends, something they do to
prove their masculinity to each other and those around them, or a candid
photo just for kicks. Girls have been known to do it, why not guys?
6. The eighth point is completely baseless: the emo style is a health
hazard. Having a fringe of hair draped across one eye will not cause you to
become blind over time, and although wearing scarves in warm places
seems bizarre, we have to remember that we all have our preferences.
Some of us run colder than others and require extra warmth.
7. The final point, number eleven, deems that all emos believe they are
dark, sensitive, mysterious, emotional, and troubled. The truth is, some
are and some are anything but. Not everyone who dresses emo should
be labeled in this way, it is a complete injustice. This harsh judgment
relates back to his fifth point and should be viewed the same way.
In my opinion, this has no place on deviantART and should be removed.

This is proof of just how stubborn and imbecilic he can be...

We have not featured this comment to incite a riot or promote hostility
toward ~Inu388. All we want is for you, our members and visitors, to see this
atrocious prejudice and hopefully find it in your hearts to do something
about it. Whether you post a comment, block this user, or report this
as a policy violation, all of your efforts count for something.
